Velocity is an exciting full-time educational academy that combines football and sport business with academia.

At Velocity you can train, play, learn, and achieve, both in your game and education. The programmes available represent fantastic opportunities for males and females aged between 14 to 18 and 19 to 23 who have ambition to fulfil a career in sport. Separate full-time programmes are available for males and females.  Velocity hosts apprenticeships, BTEC and Alternative Provision learners as well as placements in partnerships with schools where learners benefit from regularly visiting a sport setting to engage in effective learning.

Based at the home of National League South club Oxford City Football Club in Marston, the courses are the only ones of their kind in Oxfordshire. Our programmes offer students the unique chance to join Oxford City FC’s renowned football academy, undertake wider development and coaching modules and receive academic education.

Two-year and one-year programmes are available for students. The Level 3 BTEC Extended Diploma is a full-time two-year course which is worth up to three A-Levels. The programme offers optional sports coaching and refereeing / umpiring certificates and work experience placements within Oxford City FC and Ignite Sport UK. The course provides a pathway to higher education / university, a career in diverse areas of sport and playing opportunities.

It also offers optional sports coaching and refereeing / umpiring certificates and work experience placements within Oxford City FC. The programme provides a pathway to further study at Level 2 or 3, a career in sport and playing opportunities.

As an extension, students can choose to study for a Level 4 Higher National Certificate (HNC) in Sport. This full-time one-year course involves at least two days of lectures and seminars plus at least one day in a work placement.
